Christina Freeman was born and raised in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas. Although she studied dance recurrently throughout her youth, Christina’s primary focus was training as a competitive gymnast and cheerleader at Capital Gymnastics/Cheer.
At age twelve, Christina was cast as a lead in her first musical theater production, through which she discovered the joys of uniting vocal, theatrical, and dance performance. Under the instruction of Dr. Michael McKelvey (former Director of Musical Theatre at St. Edward’s University and co-founder of Summer Stock Austin), Christina continued to excel as a performer, ultimately graduating from Westwood High School’s Fine Arts Academy.
While she adores the stage, however, Christina’s true passion is nurturing the development and exploration of children through education. Christina moved to College Station in order to pursue a degree in elementary education from Texas A&M University and has since worked locally as a preschool teacher (Primrose School of College Station), childcare provider, and private tutor. She has a wide breadth of experience in early childhood and adolescent curriculum design, classroom management in multicultural and inclusionary environments, and psychological perspectives on education.
In her free time, Christina remains an active performer with The Theatre Company of Bryan/College Station, having appeared in such roles as Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Fruma-Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof, and Clara in Passion.
Miss Christina is utterly delighted to embark upon this new journey with Pure Energy Dance Productions and cannot wait to get movin'!
