Katy byrne - dance class instructor

Kathleen Byrne received a Master of Fine Arts in Dance Choreography and Performance from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

She began her training in ballet with Martha Mahr in Coral Gables, FL and attended New World School of the Arts—a well known performing arts high school in Miami. Ms. Byrne was a member of the New York Theatre Ballet performing in New York as well as throughout the United States and Europe. While at Florida State University, was asked by Suzanne Farrell to dance with The Suzanne Farrell Ballet at the Kennedy Center for their 2007 season.

Ms. Byrne was a dance professor at Texas A&M University from 2008-2014 and helped start the dance science major there in 2010. She has choreographed numerous contemporary ballet and modern dance works and has restaged historical ballets.

Through a grant she received from the Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts, Ms. Byrne completed all levels of the Pilates Mat and Pilates Apparatus training through Balanced Body University. She joined the staff of Ballet Brazos for the 2014 production of The Nutcracker.

In addition to teaching and choreographing dance and teaching Pilates, she enjoys teaching skin care and makeup as an Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant as well as spending time with her two young children, William and Charlotte.

She is excited to be a dance class instructor at Pure Energy Dance Productions in Bryan/College Station Texas.
