Mastering The Perfect Fouetté Turn

Probably the most iconic and impressive turn in ballet is a fouetté turn. Watching a dancer perform these continuous turns with the grace a ballerina portrays is magical and here, at Pure Energy Dance Productions, we want to make sure that you have an opportunity to learn to do just that! In our masterclass, Jaime Lynn Witts from Ballet Austin, will teach you the proper technique and precise mechanics it takes to master the perfect fouetté turn and perform it with ease. From the barre, to center floor, you won’t want to miss out on your chance to learn these skills essential to becoming an accomplished and versatile dancer!  


LEVEL 1 - Saturday October 21st at 1:15-2:45 PM

Ladies: pink tights, pink ballet shoes, any color leotard. 

Gentlemen: black fitted shorts, pants or tights, black shoes, white fitted shirt. 

 

 

 

Class Level: Intermediate
Prerequisites: 2 years of dance, 8+ yrs
Tuition: $25 ($20 for current students)

LEVEL 2 - Saturday, October 21st at 3:00-4:30 PM

Prerequisites: 3+ years of dance, 11+ yrs

Jaime lynn Witts

Jaime lynn Witts

Jaime Lynn Witts received most of her training from Maxim Ponomarenko, Oleg Briansky, and Mireille Briane in Pennsylvania. She attended summer programs at CPYB, Boston Ballet, and Ballet Austin. She continued her studies with Truman Finney in Ballet Austin's Trainee program before joining Ballet Austin II. She has performed as the principal role in George Balanchine's Allegro Brillante, Swanhilda in Coppelia, and Kate in The Taming of the Shrew, for which she earned her second Austin Critics Table Award. Ms. Witts has also had the honor of performing the role of The Survivor in Mills' Light / The Holocaust & Humanity Project in Austin and on tour. When she is not dancing, Ms. Witts teaches at Ballet Austin Academy where she is the Curriculum Team Leader for Levels 4 and 5.
