Ashlee Gilchrist started her dance training at age 2 when her mother, who was also a dancer and instructor, brought her into class at their local studio. Her mother’s love for the art form was quickly passed down as Ashlee continued to train in all styles from ballet to hip hop, and everything in between.
Ashlee Competed with ADA’s nationally acclaimed competition team for 10 years, traveling all over the country and winning awards for both solo and group performances along the way. Through competition team, Ashlee had the opportunity to train under some of the most popular names in dance, including Joe Lanteri, Travis Wall, Joe Tremaine, Mia Michaels, and many others. Ashlee’s favorite style of dance has always been ballet, which inspired her to audition for the Dallas Repertoire Ballet at age 11.
Over her 7 years of involvement, Ashlee worked her way up to becoming a soloist in the company, and performed 40 showings of the holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. Ashlee had the opportunity to further her ballet training under professional companies such as American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey New York, The Rock School, and Pacific Northwest Ballet through summer intensives and apprentice programs.
Ashlee teaches ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary at Pure Energy and is also a rehearsal assistant for Ballet Brazos’s performance of The Nutcracker.
